GOLDEN CUCUMBER(TIMUN MAS) 1

Once upon a time, there lived an old husband and wife. They lived in a hut in the forest. They were always sad because they did not come to their children. "What should we do so we have children," asked his wife.
 Alkisah,hiduplah seorang suami istri yang sudah tua.Mereka tinggal di gubuk di dalam hutan.Mereka selalu bersedih karena tak kunjung di karuniai anak."Apa yang harus kita lakukan agar kita memiliki anak,"tanya sang istri.
 "What if we meet a giant? He will definitely help us," suggested the husband. The giant could indeed grant someone's request. But the giant did not give it for free.
 "Bagaimana jika kita menemui raksasa?ia pasti akan menolong kita,"usul sang suami.Raksasa memang bisa mengabulkan permintaan seseorang.Tapi raksasa tak memberikannya secara cuma-cuma.
 The wife agreed with her husband's proposal. They went to meet the Giant.

"What is the need for why you meet me?" Said the giant.
"We want to have a giant child, can you grant our request?" Asked the husband. The giant who heard the request was very happy.

 Sang istri pun setuju degan usulan suaminya.Mereka pergi menemui Raksasa.
"Ada perlu apa mengapa kalian menemui aku?"tanaya raksasa.
"Kami ingin mempunyai anak Raksasa,bisakah kau mengabulkan permintaan kami?"pinta sang suami.Raksasa yang mendengar permintaan itu pun sangat senang.

 "I can grant your request, but there are conditions that must be fulfilled," the giant said fiercely. "What are the conditions of the giant?" Asked his wife. He was impatient to hear the requirements of the giant.

 "Aku bisa mengabulkan permintaan kalian,tapi ada syarat yang harus di penuhi,"ucap raksasa dengan garang."Apa syaratnya raksasa?"tanya sang istri.Ia sudah tak sabar mendengar persyaratan dari raksasa.

 "If your child is seventeen I will take it," said the giant. Because the husband and wife were very eager to have children, they immediately agreed to the requirements of the giants. They did not think about what happened later. The important thing was they had children.

 "Jika anakmu sudah berusia tujuh belas tahun aku akan mengambilnya,"ujar raksasa.Karena suami istri itu sudah sangat ingin memiliki anak,mereka langsung menyanggupi persyaratan dari raksasa.Mereka tak memikirkan apa yang terjadi nanti.Yang penting mereka memiliki anak.

 "We will fulfill your requirements," replied the wife.
"Alright. You plant these cucumber seeds behind the house. Take care like you care for your child. Love him. Then you will get a miracle," said Raksas while giving cucumber seeds to the husband and wife.

 "Kami akan memenuhi persyaratanmu,"balas sang istri.
"Baiklah.Kalian tanam bibit timun ini di belakang rumah.Rawatlah seperti kau merawat anakmu.Sayangilah ia.Maka kalian akan mendapatkan keajaiban,"kata raksas sambil memberikan biji timun kepada suami istri itu.

 After giving the cucumber seeds, Astri's husband returned home. Arriving at the house they immediately planted the cucumber seeds behind the house. They painstakingly took care of the seeds.

  Setelah memberikan biji timun itu,suami astri itu pulang kerumah.Sesampainya di rumah mereka langsung menanam biji timun itu di belakang rumah.Dengan telaten mereka merawat bijitimun itu.

 They water it every morning and evening. The only thing is that the tree has only one fruit and is golden. Over time the fruit grows to be very large unlike most cucumbers.

 Mereka menyiramnya setiap pagi dan sore hari.Anehnya,pohon itu hanya berbuah satu dan berwarna emas.Lama-kelamaan buah itu tumbuh menjadi sangat besar tidak seperti buah timun kebanyakan.

 One day I heard the sound of a baby crying from the golden cucumber. A curious wife was approaching the cucumber. They picked it and brought it into the house.

  Suatu hari terdengas suara bayi menangis dari dalam timun emas itu.Suami istri yang penasaran pun mendekati timun itu.Mereka memetiknya dan membawanya ke dalam rumah.

  Slowly the husband opened the cucumber. Olala, what a surprise they were when they saw da baby girl in the cucumber. Husband's wife was very grateful. "Because you came from golden cucumber, then I gave you the name cucumber gold," said his wife to the child her woman.

  Perlahan sang suami membuka timun itu.Olala,alangkah terkejutnya mereka saat melihat da bayi perempuan di dalam timun itu.Suami istri pun sangat bersyukur."Karena kau berasal dari timun emas,maka aku beri kau nama timun emas,"ucap sang istri kepada anak perempuannya.
